Our Design Team

 

Although we hold around 1,000 standard PDUs in stock Data and Power's unique selling point is our ability to custom design power units for our customers. Indeed, almost 80% of total PDUs shipped by DPS are tailored to our customers' specific needs.

 

Simply by taking a customer's sketch or even a verbal brief we can use our specialist CAD software to produce a design that forms the basis of a highly competitive quote. Once approved by the customer we can then produce the equipment within the agreed timescales.

 

The relevant drawing, assembly sheet and electrical acceptance certificate of every customised unit produced by us is archived for future reference.

 

Punch & Folding

 

High-grade CR 4 mild steel is used for all products which are produced on our own Amada punch and fold machinery.

 

Powder Coating

 

In-house powder coasting allows us the flexibility to change colours and texture at short notice.

 

Assembly

 

Our assembly procedures include a strict audit trail to ensure that we can repeat the assembly and it is traceable in accordance with ISO 9001-2008 . In addition we are fully RoHS / WEEE compliant and every power strip produced carries the WEEE wheelie bin label.

 

Testing

 

Every unit has a comprehensive multi-point electrical test and issued with its own unique serial number and test report allowing complete traceability. All test certificates are electronically stored and are available upon request. Our units are fitted with an earth bonding point for extra safety.

 

A power/thermal acceptance test is applied to all new product releases and key component changes. This test can determine with certainty that the components used in our PDUs will function safely for a long operation of the unit in the field.

 

The final quality assessment is provided through random spot checks on any PDU currently in production. As part of our ISO 9001-2008 procedures any number of PDUs can be checked for potential electrical or mechanical fault.

 

Packaging & Dispatch

 

Each unit is inspected to ensure 100% integrity and quality of finish. Next day delivery on all standard stock either via courier or own transport is available to meet tight deadlines.
