CL-Amp

The CL-Amp is a unique purpose-built retrofit device that allows for ‘non-invasive' real-time, remote  current monitoring. Because of the ease with which the device can be fitted to cables there is no need for scheduled power downtime normally associated with traditional monitoring technologies.

It is an ideal solution for existing data centre managers as the CL-Amp allows them to understand their power usage, regain power and cooling capacity and indentify available capacity.

Overview

An open fork in the CL-Amp enables it to be placed directly over a power cable and a choice of locking ring collars are provided, covering most international 13A, 16A and 32A cable sizes. Each locking ring separates into two halves, is placed around the power cable and pushed into CL-Amp clamping bore. It retains the cable with a neat twist and lock action. Weighing only 135 grams and with dimensions of

134mm x 88.5 mm x 41 mm it is lightweight and compact. Its unique design allows it be installed at any convenient location on the cable.

‘Non-invasive' real-time local and remote monitoring of current is enabled for any device or power strip, rated up to 32A, and is achieved by connecting the CL-Amp to a Sinetica branded monitoring and control device. Optional software enables polling and data capture which provides detailed management information and reports for capacity planning and trend analysis.

Env-U, a simple client application will monitor up to 25 PowerHawk2 or Eagle-i devices. Using standard SNMP protocol Env-U displays alerts and logs data for a rolling 62 day period. This simple application provides both a live and historic view of the data allowing basic management reports to be easily created and exported into Excel or CSV formats.
