RFI Filter
RFI filters are an integrated option that can be added to almost any PDU. Their purpose is to "smooth" out the incoming voltage to the PDU.
Voltage through a building can spike for a number of reasons, the main ones being high energy devices such as motors starting and other large inductive loads such as power supplies. When these high energy devices energise, they send feedback through the building wiring that can have a negative effect on more sensitive devices as computers.
The RFI acts to smooth out these rough edges in the voltage waveform and
therefore improve the quality of the electricity it is carrying.
RFI's come in 10Amp, 16Amp and 32Amp ratings as standard or we can offer a 60Amp version. We offer various grades of Filter from entry level voltage smoothing for standard IT equipment right through to high end medical devices. These options should not be confused with a Surge Arrestor/Protector. An RFI is a "low energy" filter and not a high energy Surge Arrestor (e.g lightning strikes).
