Most people think that blank panels are purely for aesthetics; the finishing touches to make the job look neat and hide the mass of excess equipment cabling. The reality is that they can also save you money. If you have open U space in the rack, hot air can recirculate back through the gaps and mix with the cooled air being drawn into the rack. That will not only reduce the efficiency of your cooling system it will drive up your power consumption.
Retro-fitting standard blank panels with cage nuts and screws is time consuming and fiddly, especially when you drop a screw onto live equipment! So, we have introduced a quick fit toolless panel that can just be clipped into place.
Sometimes it is necessary to run cables through unused spaces. In that case we recommend the use of brush strip panels that will help maintain needed air flow, but also allow cable access.
